Contents

When

The third Cape Town GeekDinner was held on Thursday 26 July, 2007 at 19:00.

Coverage

Wine Sponsors

Once again, GetWine sponsored the wine for this dinner. The wine was great, and their talk was fantastic.

Where

Krugmann's Grill in the V&A Waterfront just below the Cinemas. This superb restaurant has something for everyone. We had our own private room in the back.

Menu

There was a set menu for those who were that way inclined, and everyone else just ordered off the menu. They have a really good selection of everything from Sushi to Steak, with some huge, well priced burgers for those with holes in their pockets. The Sushi comes from the Cape Town Fish Market. (They are both owned by the same guy)

The set menu (R130) option was as follows:

Starter Options

  • CALAMARI: Grilled with Lemon Butter and soya, served with Basmati rice.
  • GREEK SALAD: A Classic Greek salad with Feta and olives
  • CHICKEN LIVERS: Pan Fried with olive oil rosemary and garlic on a Potato Rosti

Main Course Options

  • 250g SIRLOIN STEAK: Well – Marbled and full of flavour. Basted in BBQ sauce.Served with Potato Chips and Vegetables.
  • 250g LINE FISH: Prepared in Lemon Butter and Served with Potato Chips and Vegetables.
  • CHICKEN POTJIE: A traditional South African Stew served with Basmati Rice.
  • PESTO PENNE: Penne tossed in creamy pesto with Parmesan cheese.

Dessert
